congress-OIV-2023

Last week, between 5 and 9 June, the 44th World Congress of Vine and Wine was held in the cities of Jerez de la Frontera and Cadiz (Spain). Intergia was present as a representative of the Spanish national project VID-EXPERT “intelligent system for the diagnosis of the carbon footprint and the mitigation of climate change in the wine sector”.

The International Organisation of Vine and Wine, which deals with the technical and scientific aspects of viticulture and winemaking, organises its annual World Congress, an event that brings together the world’s leading specialists in the fields of viticulture and oenology, as well as experts in health, safety, law and economics related to the field of wine production. This year, being the 44th edition of the Congress, the theme was “Viticulture and information technologies”.

In this context, Intergia representatives Javier Carroquino (founding partner and director of Technology and Strategy of the company) and Cristina Escriche (R&D&I engineer), have attended the Congress to present a poster in the area of Law and Economics, in order to report on the line of work being developed in the VID-EXPERT project. This project is related to the digitalisation of the sector and the fight against climate change, and its main objective is the development of an intelligent tool for the calculation and diagnosis of the carbon footprint in wine organisations, which provides mitigation solutions customised to the specific characteristics of each entity.
